ROBOTECH - MECHA DESTROIDS

Destroids are non-transformable, human-piloted robotic combat vehicles designed for heavy artillery support, defensive roles, and ground combat. Unlike the Veritech fighters, which can transform into three different modes, Destroids are specialized for specific combat roles. They are designed to provide heavy firepower and support to more mobile units and to defend strategic locations such as the SDF-1 (Super Dimension Fortress One) against enemy forces.

Destroids are equipped with various heavy weapons, including large-caliber cannons, missile launchers, and energy weapons. They are heavily armored to withstand significant damage in battle. Their design reflects a more conventional military aesthetic, emphasizing durability and firepower over agility.

Major Destroid Models

Phalanx (SDI-04-Mk XV)

  • Armament: Multiple large missile launchers.
  • Features: Equipped with a variety of missile types for different combat scenarios, used for long-range bombardment.

  • Armament: Large-bore mortar, grenade launchers, and machine guns.
  • Features: Designed for urban combat and base defense, providing significant firepower in close-range engagements.

Defender (ADR-04-Mk X)

  • Role: Anti-aircraft and missile defense.
  • Armament: Four rapid-fire anti-aircraft cannons.
  • Features: Highly effective against airborne targets, used extensively to protect the SDF-1.

Tomahawk (MBR-04-Mk VI) NOT PICTURED!

  • Role: Heavy artillery and anti-aircraft support.
  • Armament: Dual large-bore cannons, multiple missile launchers, machine guns.
  • Features: Rugged and versatile, capable of delivering devastating firepower.

Destroids are essential to the RDF's combined arms strategy. Their heavy armor and powerful weaponry allow them to hold ground against overwhelming odds, while their varied designs enable them to fulfill specific roles, from anti-aircraft defense to artillery support. In the Robotech narrative, Destroids are often depicted in defensive actions, protecting the SDF-1 Macross and other key locations from Zentraedi attacks.

The Destroids of Robotech are a testament to the franchise's imaginative blend of science fiction and military strategy. As versatile and powerful ground combat units, they play a pivotal role in the defense of humanity against extraterrestrial threats, symbolizing the resilience and ingenuity of the RDF in the face of overwhelming challenges.

Tactics:
Typically used in concert with other Destroid units and Veritech fighters to provide a layered defense network.

Design and Development

Developed By:
The United Earth Government's Robotech Defense Force.

Purpose:
To provide a mobile and heavily armed anti-aircraft platform capable of intercepting and destroying enemy missiles and aircraft at various ranges.

The Destroid Phalanx is notable for its specialized role, focusing solely on missile-based weaponry to deliver devastating volleys against aerial threats, making it an essential part of any defensive grid in the Robotech universe.

Like the Defender, the Destroid Phalanx was based on the chasis of the MBR-04 Destroid Tomahawk. First designed and deployed aboard the SDF-1, the Phalanx was intended to serve as a walking missile battery, capable of delivering air defense missiles to protect the SDF-1 from Zentraedi attacks. Late in the First Robotech War, this mecha was refit with reflex missiles and used in the final massive attack against Dolza's fortress. After the First Robotech War, surviving mecha were dispersed to protect airbases in New Macross and near-by cities, like Monument.

The mecha is equipped with vernier thrusters, making it capable of limited space operations. In most cases, the mecha was used on the deck of the SDF-1, and its capacity to maneuver in zero gravity was limited to propelling itself back toward the ship's deck, if it is ever knocked off.

Zentraedi Power Armor Suit Quadrono Battalion - Botoru Battalion

Zentraedi Power Armor Suit Quadrono Battalion - Botoru Battalion

The Male Power Armor, is a powered suit which surrounds the Zentraedi pilot and functions as a powered exo-skeleton.  The Male Power Armor is issued to either Zentraedi Officer's or combat veterans.  Heavily armed, the Male Power Armor has a particle beam cannon for which the pilots like to use to attack RDF forces at long range.  The unit is one of the most heavily armored Zentraedi unit and will take numerous direct strikes, which would destroy lesser Zentraedi mecha.  The Male Power Armor has full flight capability and can operate as easily in space, in the air or on the ground.

TOY HAUL: ROBOTECH Invid Shock Trooper

ROBOTECH Invid Shock Trooper

This is just one of many Invid Shock Trooper I had in my collection. I notice my studio was getting a little pack with figures so I decided to let this one go. Little sad to see it go but it was just collecting dust.

This figure was opened but never cut from it's inside packaging. It also had the original instruction and also some stickers. On the good side I still have two of the Invid Shock Trooper figures but loose, not in there box. A lot more fun. Here are a few pick of the figure before I parted with it.

Thanks

Brawn Takara Transformers G1 1983

Brawn Takara Transformers G1 1983

Amazon Link:

Brawn Takara Transformers G1 1983 was my first ever Transformer, given to me by my Lola (Grandmother). I was extremely happy to finally get a Transformer! Unfortunately, one time when I was trying to transform Brawn, I broke his right arm. I was still happy he was able to survive all this time in storage and so many moves. Enjoy the photos and don't be shy to share and comment.

Brawn - Transform

Brawn - Takara 1983

Brawn, the Autobots' demolitions expert, is amazingly strong for his size. Due to his small stature, he often attempts to overcompensate by playing up his macho personality. He loves a challenge, be it rugged off-roading or charging headlong at foes several times his size. He has a lot of chutzpah, and a somewhat sarcastic sense of humor ever at the ready. Due to his machisimo, he sometimes looks down on noncombatant Autobots.

Brawn - Rubsign

The Generation 1 Mini-spies were the first toys to debut with rubsigns. They came packaged with Mini Vehicles in early 1985. The faction of Mini-spy remained hidden until someone opened up the package and rubbed the rubsign, revealing an Autobot or Decepticon insignia.

Brawn - Rubsign Autobot

In addition to his great strength, Brawn is also so tough as to be almost indestructible. Almost.
Sometimes he is an ancient Titan Master, and sometimes he is partnered with the Nebulon Muscles as a Headmaster.
