Fang of the Sun Dougram
I bought Dougram a long time ago when I was a kid. My friend told me it ws a Robotech toy but i was not sure at the time. It looked cool so I decided to buy it anyway. I stored Dougram in boxes in my parents and dug him out recently.
*NOTE* If you noticed on this Dougram figure there is a crack on his chest. This was a result of a firecracker placed on his chest. When my brother and I were younger we used firecrackers for real battle action. This figure was tough is took a lot of damage when were playing at the time.
INFO
Dougram fang of the sun is centred around a small group of guerrilla freedom fighters on a colonial planet named Deployer, who are known as the "Deployer 7", or "Sun Fang" team. In an unexpected coup, the elected Governor of Deployer becomes dictator and rules Deployer under martial law with the support of Earth's Federation. Fighting for independence from Earth's Federation influence, the freedom fighters begin a rebellion against the Federation's Combat Armours using a Combat Armour of their own, the Dougram.
I didn't know the Dougram figure was produced by Takara in 1984. It was made in the 1/72 scale and stands approximately 5 1/2" tall.
Revell's Robotech Defenders, the reason the show was called Robotech in the first place. Since Revell was already releasing imported model kits from different anime (including Macross) under the Robotech name it prevented Harmony Gold from doing their own merchandising for their new syndicated show, so the two companies entered into an agreement and Harmony Gold used the ROBOTECH name for the show. Those Macross mecha designs were the source of so much licensing legal issues in North America for Harmony Gold (the original edition of the Battletech game, the original Jetfire toy for Hasbro's Transformers line...)
The Robotech Defenders are a line of figures released by Revell during the early 1980s. Their name seems to imply, the "'Robotech Defenders'" but are not part of the Robotech Anime Universe.
