NECA TMNT

Leonardo - NECA Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

One of my all time favourite cartoon/comic when I was a kid and still is my favourite. These NECA action figures of the TMNT are super detailed based on the original comic of Eastman and Laird. Unfortunately I had to get rid of these figure for certain reason at the time. But I still have a the set of four still mint in package. I hope they re-realise these figures. I didn't take as many photos as I would like. I taken these photos around 2008

Nickname: Leo
Weapon:  Katana Swords,, Wakazashi, Bokken, Ninjatkus
Height: 5'2" 157cm
Skin Colour: Green
Eye Colour: Deep Blue
Age: 15

Leonardo is depicted as the eldest brother and the calmest of the four. He never explicitly referred to himself as leader in the early stories.

Of the four brothers, Leo trained the hardest and he always tries to internalise Splinter's teachings. This diligence, he also tried to transfer to his brothers, but he rarely succeeded. In addition, Leonardo draws from a very highly developed sense of honor, and when other characters share his sentiments, at least in approach (such as Karai and Miyamoto Usagi), he becomes quite close to them.

In the future, an aged Leonardo has resigned from killing, after his lover Radical was murdered by  Carnage. His revenge killing on Complete Carnage was the final time he would take another life.

He is the one to usually take charge of the turtles when Master Splinter is not present. He is often at odds with his more hot-headed brother, Raphael.

TMNT originated from a comical drawing sketched out by Kevin Eastman during a casual evening of brainstorming with his friend Peter Laird. The drawing of a short, squat turtle wearing a mask with nunchakus strapped to its arms was humorous to the young artists, as it played upon the inherent contradiction of a slow, cold-blooded reptile with the speed and agility of Japanese martial arts. Laird suggested that they create a team of four such turtles, each specialising in a different weapon. Eastman and Laird often cited the work of Frank Miller and Jack Kirby as their major artistic influences.

Leonardo is often at odds with his more hot-headed brother, Raphael, as they are just too different. He is the team's primary strategist (except in situations related to technology - Donatello's field). Leonardo prefers considering a plan before he attacks. Raphael, however, would rather attack the enemy directly. This was reflected, for example, when Splinter was gone. Leonardo tried to keep a cool head, but Raphael simply ran away and wanted to find Splinter on his own. But when it comes to the crunch, the brothers can always rely on each other.

Years later, Leonardo still leads his brothers (all four now in their thirties) in fights against crime. Leonardo and Raphael's conflict seems to have greatly lessened. When the Utroms make a very public arrival on Earth and reveal alien life to humans, however, the Turtles become free to mingle in everyday society. The Turtles also help the Utroms acclimate to life on Earth and work alongside the Foot Clan as security. One Foot Clan member is Cha Ocho, who Leonardo has a rivalry with due to an encounter years earlier. Karai approaches Leonardo for help when a mysterious force begins attacking various Foot Clans; only the New York branch is left intact. His investigation takes him to the Battle Nexus, where he meets Oroku Yoshi (who wears armor similar to the Shredder's).

Bebop "Human"

In the 1988 cartoon Bebop was originally an African-American human gangster that was hire by Shredder, affiliated with the likes of thugs such as fellow mutant Rocksteady. With the other members of his gang, he was sent out to stop a Channel 6 reporter named April O'Neil from doing a report about crime in the city. April ran down into the sewers while being chased by the street gang and met the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, who then defeated the gang in a fight.

Bebop and Rocksteady

Bebop and Rocksteady were originally human, part of a street gang in New York City that was hired by the leader of The Foot Clan The Shredder.

Goons

The Shredder developed a plan to defeat the Turtles by mutating members of the street gang, so that they would have capabilities greater than the Turtles. Rocksteady and Bebop both volunteered to undergo the procedure (though neither was  aware of what it would the out come would be) with the promise that it would allow them to exact revenge on the Turtles. Bebop was mutated into a human warthog and Rocksteady into a rhinoceros. The transformation did make them larger and stronger,

Splinter 1988 (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)

"SPLINTER"

Splinter is one of my original collection I got when I was a kid. I like all his interpretations on him in all the comics, movies and cartoon shows. I still have all his weapons and rack.

In the 1987 TMNT cartoon, Splinter is Yoshi. He was a martial art instructor for the Foot Clan, based in Japan, and also had a passion for Renaissance art. One day he was framed by his rival, Oroku Saki (Eventually turn into his future arch-enemy, the Shredder), for trying to murder their common dojo master. Being unable to prove his innocence, he moved away to New York City, where he lived as a hermit in its sewers and befriended the rats.

He came across four baby turtles which were accidentally dropped by a boy through a grate of the sewers. He kept them as pets and treated them like his children. But later, he found the turtles venturing near broken barrels that were oozing glowing pink chemical liquid. As he tried to recover them from danger and attempted to clean them with his bare hands, they were all affected by the chemical which was a mutagen.

This transformed any living being into a mutant whose body became mixed with the DNA of any other living being it was most in contact with. The turtles, being in a pet store with people touching them and all around them, turned into young  mutated turtles. Hamato himself, having been in contact more with sewer rats, became a humanoid rat.

Splinter, the rat mutation of ninja master, Hamato Yoshi, is the Turtles' "shidoshi" (teacher of the warrior ways of enlightenment). As a man - and still as a sewer rat - Splinter has a special fondness for the arts, especially martial arts. He also digs the underground, since his rat-like abilities make him quite a burrower.

Shikomizue

The shikomizue ("prepared cane") is a Japanese concealed sword disguised as a cane or walking stick, similar to the sword stick. It was used mostly by the ninja, being easy to hide, and even went well with many disguises, such as travellers, the elderly, or the cripple. It is most famous for its use by the fictional sword master Zatoichi. But Splinter is pretty kick ass with the shikomizue

Ninja Bow

A Bow and arrow was a weapon used by the ninja as well as the samurai. The Bow is a flexible arc which shoots aerodynamic arrows by means of elastic energy. Essentially, the bow used by Ninja is a form powered by a string or cord. There are two types of bows and arrows: The long and the short. Ninja probably used shorter bows than the samurai's yumi(longbow). Both kinds of bow can be made from wood, steel, or other metals. But most are made from wood that are curved, then a string is attached. As this string is drawn, energy is stored in the flexible limbs of the bow; the energy is transferred to the arrow when the string is released, projecting it much farther than a weapon could be thrown.

Splinter (Yoshi) raised the turtles by himself, and gave them the names of his favourite Renaissance artists: Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michaelangelo, who were to be known by personality and headband colour. He also taught them the art of ninjutsu in order to protect themselves better, since people above ground would not accept them. And like many real life ninja masters He also has a strong sense of Honor and follows very strict rules of Honor. In which all four of his students take after and strongly follow.

Splinter uses his cunning as well as his bow and sword cane to stop and fight  the evil Foot Clan. Splinter trained the Turtles to fight for truth, justice and an equal portion of food.
