Michelangelo- NECA Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

NECA TMNT

Michelangelo Adventure's Coming Soon!

One of my all time favourite cartoon/comic when I was a kid and still is my favourite. These NECA action figures of the TMNT are super detailed based on the original comic of Eastman and Laird. Unfortunately I had to get rid of these figure for certain reason at the time. But I still have a the set of four still mint in package. I hope they re-realise these figures. I didn't take as many photos as I would like. I taken these photos around 2008

Michelangelo- NECA Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Michelangelo

Nickname: Mikey, Mike

Weapon: Nun-Chucks,Flk, Throwing stars, Manriki-gusari

Height: 4'9", 145cm

Eye Color: Baby Blue, White

Age: 15

Bandana Color: Red, Orange

In the Mirage Comics Michelangelo didn't prank, joke and gag as much as he did later on in lots of the other canon. In the Mirage comics Mikey is the happiest and most open Turtle, which frequently brings him problems. In the original comic books, Michelangelo was initially depicted as fun loving, carefree, and while not as aggressive as Raphael, always ready to fight. He is much more seriously natured than in the film incarnations, which have labelled his character a permanent "dude" talking pre-teen. It was Michelangelo's one-shot in this series that fleshed out most of the traits that have become synonymous with the character, such as his playfulness, empathy, and easygoing nature. In the one-shot story, Michelangelo adopts a small stray orphaned cat (which he lovingly names Klunk) and also stops thieves from stealing toys meant for orphaned children.

After their defeat at the hands of the Foot Clan the Turtles, Splinter, April, and Casey retreat to a farm house in Northampton, Massachusetts which used to belong to Casey's grandmother. While there, April is worried to note that Michelangelo is not himself. He spends his days in the barn taking out his aggression on a punching bag. A scene shows him lashing out at his surroundings and repeatedly punching the wall of the barn until it breaks, then collapsing on it despondently, anger spent. The end of the story implies that Michelangelo's sorrow and frustration have been resolved, as subsequent issues reunite Michelangelo with his more relaxed, optimistic personality.

It is during this time at the farm we learn that Michelangelo also has an interest in comic books, specifically ones involving superheroes such as "The Justice Force" (comic book heroes based on The Justice League and The Fantastic Four). He also found solace in writing fiction and produced a story depicting himself a ronin in Feudal Japan.

In Volume 4, Michelangelo gets a job as a tour guide showing alien visitors around Earth. His first (and only) tourist is the Regenta (or "princess") Seri of the Styracodon race. Michelangelo convinced Seri to sneak away from her bodyguards so that he could take her on a tour of the northwest coast of the U.S. During their time together, Mike and Seri eventually became intimate, and Seri soon laid a clutch of eggs strongly implied to be the children of their mating. Soon after, Seri's bodyguards returned, overpowered and detained Mike, carted up the eggs, and secretly smuggled them off the planet to their home world. Mike found himself in an extrajudicial prison where he was starved and tortured for weeks. With the help of his Triceraton cell mate Azokk, he managed to escape, though Azokk died in the process.

Michelangelo was then rescued by a group of Triceratons who had come to rescue Azokk, and became friends with their Captain T'Zirk. Mike decided to join forces with the Triceratons, becoming one of their commandos, and helping train them to fight the way the turtles fight.

Thereafter, Michelangelo's story took an even darker turn, with him participating in acts of genocide in the Triceratons' war against the Styracodons, and bitterly seeking revenge against Seri for the events that led him there. All the while, none of Michelangelo's family or friends on Earth appear to be aware of anything that has happened to him since he took off with Seri to New England, and he is still a missing person.

In the story arc City at War, Michelangelo instantly bonds with Casey Jones' adopted daughter Shadow, who nicknames him "Rooish". In the second volume, the Turtles decide to try to live apart from one another. Michelangelo, the social creature that he is, moves in with April and Casey so that he can be close to Shadow.

Throughout the first two volumes, Michelangelo seemed to act as peacemaker of the team. These stories also laid the foundations which demonstrated his closeness with Donatello, their laid-back natures separating them from the more contentious Leonardo and Raphael.

In the new 2012 series, Michelangelo uses both a kusarigama and nunchucku. His character design was updated as well, making him slightly shorter than his brothers and giving him dark freckles as well as shorter tails on his mask.

Mikey is once again portrayed as the younger brother and is prone to goofing off rather that focusing on his training. However he is still an impressive fighter. His natural affinity for the martial arts is present with his ability to learn moves after seeing it only a few times. He also has the ability to fight without "thinking", once deflecting Splinter's blows while listening to music with his eyes closed, which was something that Donatello had to learn (Although he was unable to do this when directly asked to fight without thinking in their first fight with the telepathic Victor Falco).

More pics coming for Michelangelo!

Unfortunately these are the only shots I have of the NECA TMNT. I sold them long ago and didn't have a chance to take any individual shots of Donatello. These are the only action figures I regret selling but at lest I still have another set still mint in package. I'll post pics of them on my blog soon.

Splinter 1988 (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)

"SPLINTER"

Splinter is one of my original collection I got when I was a kid. I like all his interpretations on him in all the comics, movies and cartoon shows. I still have all his weapons and rack.

In the 1987 TMNT cartoon, Splinter is Yoshi. He was a martial art instructor for the Foot Clan, based in Japan, and also had a passion for Renaissance art. One day he was framed by his rival, Oroku Saki (Eventually turn into his future arch-enemy, the Shredder), for trying to murder their common dojo master. Being unable to prove his innocence, he moved away to New York City, where he lived as a hermit in its sewers and befriended the rats.

He came across four baby turtles which were accidentally dropped by a boy through a grate of the sewers. He kept them as pets and treated them like his children. But later, he found the turtles venturing near broken barrels that were oozing glowing pink chemical liquid. As he tried to recover them from danger and attempted to clean them with his bare hands, they were all affected by the chemical which was a mutagen.

This transformed any living being into a mutant whose body became mixed with the DNA of any other living being it was most in contact with. The turtles, being in a pet store with people touching them and all around them, turned into young  mutated turtles. Hamato himself, having been in contact more with sewer rats, became a humanoid rat.

Splinter, the rat mutation of ninja master, Hamato Yoshi, is the Turtles' "shidoshi" (teacher of the warrior ways of enlightenment). As a man - and still as a sewer rat - Splinter has a special fondness for the arts, especially martial arts. He also digs the underground, since his rat-like abilities make him quite a burrower.

Shikomizue

The shikomizue ("prepared cane") is a Japanese concealed sword disguised as a cane or walking stick, similar to the sword stick. It was used mostly by the ninja, being easy to hide, and even went well with many disguises, such as travellers, the elderly, or the cripple. It is most famous for its use by the fictional sword master Zatoichi. But Splinter is pretty kick ass with the shikomizue

Ninja Bow

A Bow and arrow was a weapon used by the ninja as well as the samurai. The Bow is a flexible arc which shoots aerodynamic arrows by means of elastic energy. Essentially, the bow used by Ninja is a form powered by a string or cord. There are two types of bows and arrows: The long and the short. Ninja probably used shorter bows than the samurai's yumi(longbow). Both kinds of bow can be made from wood, steel, or other metals. But most are made from wood that are curved, then a string is attached. As this string is drawn, energy is stored in the flexible limbs of the bow; the energy is transferred to the arrow when the string is released, projecting it much farther than a weapon could be thrown.

Splinter (Yoshi) raised the turtles by himself, and gave them the names of his favourite Renaissance artists: Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michaelangelo, who were to be known by personality and headband colour. He also taught them the art of ninjutsu in order to protect themselves better, since people above ground would not accept them. And like many real life ninja masters He also has a strong sense of Honor and follows very strict rules of Honor. In which all four of his students take after and strongly follow.

Splinter uses his cunning as well as his bow and sword cane to stop and fight  the evil Foot Clan. Splinter trained the Turtles to fight for truth, justice and an equal portion of food.
